Thanks everyone.. now to figure out what I'm gonna to do to the baby (after I figure out how to fix my X5 - see here).

I'm thinking Xenon's first. Hids4Less has some stage 2 xenon's for a decent price. Also, I think a set of turbo twists are definitely in order. I'd like to trade the two sets of cups and tires I have for one set of twists. A different sound system is definitely in the future too.

Thanks for all your congrats! This is pretty exciting.. something I've been looking forward to since I was a kid...

Labatt,

Due to a slight deviation in plan, I am going to have a set of the HIDs that were recently acquired via the Rennlist group buy. If you want them (the shipping box hasn't even been opened) I will sell them to you for what I have in them. Let me know via email.

Ouch! I know how it feels. I was late for school once and came flying out of the garage, completely shearing off my rearview mirror. I'm sure they can fix that up in no time though. A 4.4 too--I'm envoius. I tried talking my mom into one, but she wound up with a Town and Country Limited for the extra seats. Haha I see we have a very similar lineup of cars. Do you take car of all your BMW stuff at Keeler?

Congrats again on the car, the weather around here is shaping up nicely!

Chris -

I tried to send you e-mail, but it won't let me... Probably since I'm not yet a Rennlist member...

Is there a web page that talks about the lights you got? Also, how much are you looking for? I wasn't looking to spend the money right away, but...

Drop me an e-mail..

This was a stupid mistake.. just tired I guess. A claybar took out a lot of the white paint, but there's still a bunch left. Plus, it turns out the door is slightly bent, so it's off to the body shop for me on my 4 month old blue beast... I love my 4.4 X5.. talk about a sleeper.. I can outperform most cars on the road (including the occasional Boxster - not the S though). And you can't beat its winter handling.

I was talking to my salesguy over at the dealer I bought the 993 at, and they have been demo-ing the Cayenne to quite a few people. They've already had one person back out on the purchase for a BMW X5 4.6. I guess the reception has been less than exciting. Of course, I am driving around the bastard child of the BMW world (rated the least liked BMW by BMW owners).. I'm terribly affected by it.

Yeah, I was talking to Scott about the Cayenne the last time I was there. The one that Langan sent to the car show to demo was a silver on grey S model. It looked awfully bland and uninteresting--also a lot smaller than I had pictured. If that's the one that they're demo-ing, no question in my mind that I'd take any X5 over it, let alone a 4.6 (love them). But, when I was up there last week (the day I saw your car), they had a black on sand Turbo model. It's no 4.6, but it looked worlds better than the S model and Scott said it goes like a bat out of he**. Still, given the price, I'd save the extra cash and buy a 4.6. Hell, for that amount of money, I'd just bite the bullet and shell out some extra cash to pick up a 996tt. I can't justify spending that money on an SUV. For that price, you could probably buy a barebones X5 3.0 and a new e46 M3!

In any case, good luck with fixing that up!

Already trying to figure out ways to shuttle the V1 between my X5 and the 993.. I have it hardwired in the X5.. seems like there are quite a few ways to do it.

Whats all this talk about narrow seats, I have a 96 911 cabrio and a 34" waist I don't find them narrow. Are you the same guys who get charged for 2 seats on the airlines?

Labatt,
I am interested in your wheel trade. I sent you an email and then noticed it went to rennlist@ispmanage.com I don't think this is your email address. Did you get my email?
If not, can you post it or send me an email at hrmiller27@msn.com ?
Thanks,

Thumbs up

Congrats from the Palmetto State. There is a guy here in the Charleston area (I pull up beside etc... and roll the window down to hear her purr) with the same 98 model. He looks like he can't wipe the grin off his face. Hope you are the same way. I'm close on a purchase too. Cheers and Vrooom Vrooooooom...

Sean -

6'2" 40" waist here... narrow seats, low roof. And the only reason I'd get charged for two seats on an airplane is if I didn't want someone sitting next to me.

I had the opportunity to take the car out today for a real spin 'around the block'. Drove the thing hard for about an hour around the back country roads here (my wife sent me out for some wine for Easter - I took advantage of the time out). I don't think the grin is coming off my face for days...

Nice job, Labatt, you'll find that most errands will now take twice as long to accomplish and you'll probably go the farthest route each time. Enjoy!
