Sunroof interior lining repair.
The leading edge of my sunroof liner is pulling away from the sunroof. Anyone had experience with gluing the liner to the metal edge of the sunroof? Thanks.

Happened to me also - I found a (skilled) automotive interiors specialist here in Detroit - one of the few advantages to Motor City
Anyway, the interiors guy repaired it flawlessly, also drawing the roof vinyl tight since I guess it had sagged somewhat over the years - total charge aabout $80, so I guess it can't have been that big a deal. I can't imagine what a Porsche dealer would have charged
Recommendation: find an interiors, or sunroof specialist.

happened to mine also
fixed it DIY with super glue
i think what i did was opened the sunroof wide while holding onto the liner
then glued the liner and hold it tight with a binder clip while it dried
has been more than a year and works fine

Bumping this old post to the top. The leading edge of my sunroof liner is starting to pull away from the sunroof just like Jim's in the first post. Has this happened to anyone else...what did you do...dealer, DIY, other? THanks

I had a similar problem in my Targa...the trim panels running along the sides the roof had its vinyl trip starting to become unglued. While the trip panels were off to repair a seal problem (paid by Porsche ;-)) I took them down to a well recommended trim shop. He reglued the vinyl with some sort of contact cement and then used tiny stainless steel staples on the hidden edges to hold the vinyl down.
Apparently on both the sunroof and especially the Targa the glue on the inside edge gets lots of sun and suffers from UV breakdown...

FWIW, my sunroof liner just did the same thing. I think I am going to fix it myself IF the warranty doesn't cover it. Does anyone know if Porsche warranty will cover it? I checked on my spoiler air dam peice and it is NOT covered by the warranty.

As an update a year later, I did exactly as suggested by Kai 96 993, and it worked like a charm.
