Has anyone bought this kit from Gert? It includes H&R springs with Bilsteins and front and rear sway bars. Seems like a decent price for what you get. The car is not a daily driver and it sees track time about 4-5 times a year. I am looking for a decent track setup that still provides a softer street ride.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Your driving habits make you sound like an ideal candidate for the PSS-9 kit. The kit that Gert sells is probably great, but without the adjustability of the PSS-9. Shop around and compare... you will pay quite a bit of labor for the install, corner balance, and alignment, so don't let a couple of hundred bucks for the parts stand in your way of a better solution. IMHO.

I have been considering PSS9 and that is probably my first choice but I thought those had increased to about $2700 and Gert's kit is $1700 US. The $1000 difference seems significant.

Am I missing something?

No, you're not. $1000 is nothing to sneeze at. Check around for PSS-9 pricing more like $2100. Maybe I'm dreaming, but I thought that there were still some new sets at the old price. Ask viperbob for his price. I hope you can find a set at a more reasonable price.

E-Bay has some kits for around $2,150 or so for "buy it now" but I don't know the seller...you can look them up to see if you want to trust them. I was in the same boat as you and I lucked out when a vendor posted new PSS9s for the old price. I grabbed em. He had 8 sets and they went in 1 day!

Got the front on and am gonna start the back in a few minutes!

I have Gert's lowered suspension kit, and find it suits my needs just fine. It sees the track at most several times a year, and the autocross several times a year too, but most of its use is as a 'road trip' car and some around town. If results were more important to me, I might change the settings of the RS rear sway bar for autocross vs. track, but I find I don't and I'm happy.

I purchased the lowered suspension kit from Gert and had it installed about 3 weeks ago. Had a problem installing the rear sway bar but I think we have that figured out with the help of some Rennlisters. It lowered the car to just below ROW and the ride is fairly stiff but still comfortable for street driving. I took it to the track a few weeks ago and in my uneducated opinion it handled wonderfully but I never had the stock suspension on the track for comparison.. I am very happy with th whole setup. Installation with alignment and corner balance should run around $800-$1000 in the So Cal. area. Any specific questions PM me.

You might want to ask for pics from some guys on the board that have the H&R setup. They lower the car more than the factory ROW M030 springs.
I am partial to a factory product and although H&R is good stuff (I have them on a 740i) they lower the car, IMO, too much for street setup.

PSS-9's are a different animal and may be overkill for what you need on the street.

Lots of research to do and just as many opinions to consider.

I just checked ebay and bimmerparts has the PSS9 for $2100. Anybody had any recent experience with these guys? They are a sponsor but a search of the archives reveals a mixed report. Viperbob had a terrible experience with them.

By the way, what is the best way to check with Viperbob on his availability and pricing.

Do you have before and after pics of your car? I think your setup makes a lot of sense for those not likely to track their car very often (or at all). My understanding is that M030 springs are not progressive while H&R, others usually are. Is this correct? I assume your conclusion of too low for street setup overrode this benefit?

I did choose the RoW springs for a minimum drop. My understanding is the RoW springs ARE progressive and the US springs are not.

Thanks. I think your setup looks great. Still looking for a p-car but am anticipating the 4x4 comments already. I will definitely look in to the ROW / Bilstein HD combo when I do. BTW, I think C4S's look great in arena red!
