Default 993 Wind Deflector Repair

Hello all,

Please see the photos below. Something on the side of the bushing below that holds the red coated hinge to the fixed windscreen arm broke off, and so the red coated hinge now slides off the bushing. Not sure if there was some type of cap there or what. Most of the "screw" portion of the bushing is still there, so I can insert the red coated hinge onto it, but it doesn't hold once I start driving and wind hits it. I searched far and wide and it doesn't appear there is a replacement bushing. Any thoughts on how I repair this? Should I try and fabricate some type of cap and attach it to the bushing axle with something like JB weld, being careful not to weld the hinge to the bushing?

Thanks for any input.

KMS

JB weld would do the job but use sparingly and in the right spots

Default 1997 Porsche 993 Windscreen Wind Deflector Ball Socket Repair

Thanks, Andrew.

Reading some other posts with similar issues, the bushing I guess is called a ball socket in the user's manual. Anyone know how I can get a replacement ball socket?

Thanks,

Kurt
