993 Alarm and radio connection
Dear,
I replaced an aftermarket Radio CD player with the new Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB, wich is a new version of the original factory radio cassette in 1993.
Apart from that, my alarm sometimes goes off without any logical explanation.
I have seen in some threads that some Porsches have a link between the radio and the alarm module to detect a theft of the radio.
Can anyone help me if this is existing in my 1994 993 C2 carrera cabrio? I cannot find any lose cable in the radio area.
Many thanks

Search for "Green wire", both behind the radio and on this forum.
The green radio alarm wire was/is connected to the original radio frame, and was grounded when the radio was pulled out. Aftemarket frames does not have this functionality. Isolate and tuck away the wire.
The Alarm/Door lock control unit has an event log and fault memory that will tell you the reason for the activated alarm. Use a Porsche-compatible OBD tool to read the codes.
Cheers,
Tore

It may be that the green alarm wire is dangling unattached behind the dash, creating the intermittent alarm you're seeing. Here's what it looks like:

The above picture shows a late Boxster/996 Brown/Blue wire with a green heat shrink tube on it, this is not how this looks like in the 993.
By the way, the 964 radio alarm wire is a stiff (most often green) wire looking like a coaxial cable. See this post for a picture.
Here's a picture of the 993 variant lent from the PFF forum:

^^^ Of course! Grabbed the wrong "green radio wire" pic. Here's the one I meant to attach showing where that wire attaches to the 993 radio frame:
