Default belts,96 c2 71,000kms.

After washing the car and wiping down the engine compartment i noticed
a line on the belt that is next to fan.I looked further down and saw that belt leans on small guide wheel. What didn't look right to me was that the belt did not sit square on the guide wheel. The line on the belt is what concerns me.

When the engine is running, is the small wheel turning??
On my belt, you can see a discoloration on the belt where the wheel runs, as the wheel is narrower than the belt. If you can see a line, no big deal, if you can feel a line, then further work may be necessary.

In case you do not know, the black plastic wheel is part of the fan belt roller sensor. It keeps the roller against the belt with light tension. If the belt breaks, tension against the roller is lost, and a switch is tripped; activating a warning light on the dash.
