95 rear brake light, cost no object: replace or rig?
The 3rd rear brake light on my new-to-me 95 993 C4 coupe is completely dark ... I discovered this getting the Mass. inspection done. Luckily, their computer crashed at the end and spit out the inspection sticker anyway. It was at a Porsche dealer, ironically. They told me the fuse was fine, so it was a problem with the light.
I thought that all 95's had the tiny spoiler with the light above the rear deck, but mine has the housing at the top of the rear window like the later cars do. My question is this: My understanding is the problem often lies with the wiring embedded in the rear window to power the light. Replacing the glass is a fix, but you can also rig the wiring to avoid pulling the glass. My glass does not squeak, front or back, at the moment. The car is Porsche certified, so the dealer will be doing the repair for free, what would you recommend? Modifying the wiring so it won't break again or replacing the glass?
TIA,
Vic

Check these two DIY's
<a href="http://p-car.com/diy/glass/" target="_blank">http://p-car.com/diy/glass/</a>
and when you get it working, you'll probably discover some of the bulbs have burned out.
Here's another diy on that:

Personally, I'd modify the wiring, even if I could replace the glass. It's much less intrusive.
