Door Strike Torque Value
Replacing my passenger side strike plate this weekend. What is the tightening torque for the 2 bolts?
TIA

you will quickly realize you are going to tighten them and untighten them so much trying to get the gap just right that hell is going to freeze over before you use a torque wrench

I have never needed to adjust the striker receiver/plates in my 993, however looking at the driver door distorted splines on the socket head receiver hold-down screws, I can see the previous owner was challenged to get it adjusted properly. I have used CRC QD electronic cleaner to hose out the receiver as dirt accumulates in the receiver's pocket and in my case was interfering with the striker fully latching the door shut.

Got it done, and while it was a little challenging because of the seemingly infinite settings of the floating bolt receivers, it allowed for a very good alignment of the door (uniformly ever so slightly proud of the rear fender) once I figured out the relationships.
The new strike also solved the mystery of a clunking sound over bumps I attributed to the cabrio top, even though the old strike didn't have any of the tell tale issues I had read about here. It wasn't OEM though, and that may have been the issue.
