Default To paint or not to paint

I have a very low Mileage 98 C2S. (4th owner) It had been repainted and repaired from damage in Spring of 1998 (car originally purchased 12/1997). driver front panel, door, roof appear to have original paint as the meter readings are 5.5-7.0. Everywhere else is 10+. The respray is now 25 years old. The car is mechanically perfect and the interior is all original and in excellent condition. As stated above, the car has had 1 incident on carfax within 6 months of New ownership in 1998. Nothing since then except change of ownership and maintenance records, which are in my possession. The car has been meticulously maintained. Since the paint is not original, are there any reasons NOT to repaint it, other than the cost? Opinions welcomed.

Thanks

What color is the car? Can you tell the areas that were painted? Are you doing this for your own satisfaction, or for resale?

Are you considering a full repaint?

My opinion is 'no'. And just to be clear, 'paint it' and make sure it's an amazing colour; something in the 'blue' spectrum would be acceptable. Unless the interior is red. Then go 'yellow'.

If you are painting it the same color again, I wouldn't bother.

If you are painting it to sell it, I wouldn't bother.

How much would it cost to repaint?

yes considering full repaint as car would be perfect afterwards.

I can tell areas painted by tape lines inside deck lid and door Jambs. Passerby would probably not notice. Under bright lighting you can see very very slight swirl marks in the paint. I would say paint job is a 7. Rest of the car is a 10.

never try to make a car perfect, something always happens afterwards.
enjoy what you have

I would paint it. It's obvious it is something that bothers you and I am guessing every time you look at the 993 you see the paint defects. Find a great shop and do it the right way and enjoy. Besides the cost, there is not much of a downside.

i dont like the faux rat rod 911 trend but a little natural patina is a good thing. leave it, drive it and add more scars.

A solid detail with paint correction will likely fix the swirl marks. Repainting for that alone seems silly. Start with a detail and go from there.
