Default ppi suggestions in cherry hill, nj area.

Can i get a recommendation for a PPI in the Cherry Hill, NJ area.
Inspection is for a low mileage 993. Need a shop that has good eye for paint / body work as well as mechanicals.
thanks,

Rob,
I just had a positive experience with Dougherty Automotive in West Chester, PA. Not too far from Cherry Hill maybe 45 minutes. There is an independant in the Flemington, NJ area about 30 minutes or less from Cherry Hill. Don't know much about the Flemington shop, there may be a link to the shop on the Schatenbaum site (PCA zone 1). Good luck.

I believe jford is talking about Autotechnik in Pennington, about 30 minutes from Cherry Hill. It's the independent shop I use, and the service manager Tom Keenan has been working on Porsches for 30 years. Their website is www.autotechnik.com and I have had good experiences with them. Good luck!

Dougherty's actually quite a hike from Cherry Hill (more like an hour). A place that's about 20 minutes closer would be J&J Motors in Bryn Mawr. Call Jay at 610-525-5000 to schedule an appointment. Don't know about his skills in evaluating bodywork though although he's worked on Porsches for ever (and has a 911 track car).

You might also try asking someone from the Schattenbaum region and see if they have any other rec. closer to you.

Jason, that is the place I was thinking about. Looked at a 951 with my brother for sale there.

Arrwin,
My experiance with Power-Tech was very positive. I should note that they did a corner balance and alignment after a DIY suspension install. I did not have any motor work done by them. They were thorough in thier work and did a follow up after they were done to make sure I was happy. They seem to have alot of cars there all the time which I take as a good sign. There are a few options in the North Jersey/NY area so the fact that they are busy boads well I think.

I went to Dogherty because they are closer and I wanted to establish a relationship with a closer shop. They also did an aligment as I had thrown mine out running on a skid pad (or so I think).

Thanks Jamie. I spoke with Mike from Power-Tech briefly just before and he seemed pretty knowlegeable and friendly. I was looking for an affordable, yet competent independent in the NY/NJ area for regular maintenance. He quoted me $200 for an oil change which I think seems reasonable(?). I want to give Cheech @ Rennwerke a call as well as Power-Tech seems a bit far from NYC.

Thanks again!

I would think $200 from any shop for an oil change would be very reasonable. Just the Mobil One at $7 or so a quart (what they will most likely charge) is about $77. Most of my PO's reciepts for oil changes show he was paying some where in the area of $270 or so. I have heard good things about Cheech from somone but have seen some mixed reviews on the board. Mike is a nice guy and he drives which I like, although I have had some very good work done on my car by those who don't.

Sorry for the thread hi-jack Rob.

Default powertech

I have had powertech work on the three 911 cars that I have owned and have nothing but praise for the quality of work that they do. I often stop in just to say hi my family owns the two asphalt plants right down the road from them. As Jford commented they are always busy, work on porsches only and both Keith and Mike are recommended by Dave Maynard.
