Hi Everyone,
I have just bought this 993 C2 Coupe (that's my wife's 996 Cab next to it)
it's wonderful, a 96 with Varioram and goes like a missile, I've put on a set of 18" Kinesis split rim K18's and have just bought a complete 993 Cup suspension setup, just worried that this may be a bit too harsh for everyday driving.
My car has 99k miles on it on the original shocks but has H&R Springs and has benefited from a complete top end overhaul from Carlsen Porsche.
I want to fit Big Reds and the air scoops in the front bumper with the pipes as I intend to track the car.
I heve several early cars most intersting is a 73 T coupe (without sunroof) I am fitting a Euro 97 Varioram with oil cooled 915 with Wevo built 80% LSD. Also will have 930 Turbo brakes, front Floating rotors, rears in the trailing position just like a proper turbo.
I have just bought a Weltmeister short shift kit for my 993, is it any good or do I send it back? I'm not too impressed with Weltmeister stuff.
Any advice would be welcome
Thanks
Ian

Ian,

looking at your mod list, you'd do well to talk to Viperbob. He is local in the South Bay, and a wealth of information on our cars.

He can provide parts and expert installation as well. Not affiliated with Bob, just a grateful neighbor and a happy customer.

Good luck.

Hey Max,
you say easy to pick a favourite, I agree, I love the 993.
It's the newest Porsche I've ever owned, I had a pair of 964 Carrera 4's in England, one after the other, I truly believed that I got quicker in the wet!
The 993 is a fabulous car, one of the best I have ever owned, I sold my 73 RS just recently and I wouldn't swap back!

Ian:

Welcome!

As far as advice goes, keep an eye out for one of our BAR (Bay Area Rennlister) drives. Not only are the drives fun, but you can get a lot of good advice from many folks all in the space of a few hours. Oh, and another thing, no one cares about the shape of your headrests .... ;^)

Regards

Hi Jim,
thanks for the advice!
By the way not only did you leave a steering wheel in that S you sold to me but also a jacket and a hat!
I've been meaning to drop them over but if you're over this way pop in
Best Regards
Ian
