Thanks Dan, that should confirm the theory of all 993s having the same module.
I had asked for a ROW response in this thread , but never recieved one.
I would guess that Porsche made sure that the spoiler deployed at a legal road speed for a few different reasons.
Needing downforce at 50mph is not one of them

the electric spoiler drive motor is about $310
964 624 111 00
the spoiler drive transmission is about $325
964 624 121 00
The electric motor is what drives the cable. The trans. is the assembly with a worm gear that raises the spoiler.

OK Folks. 1) Settle US vs ROW OEM difference (if any), part number and price. 2) Is this going to be the same as RUF (actually RUF is allways more than OEM!) better/worse? 3) Make a decission. And lets do it?

Hmmmm....Not sure what the deal is, but when I was looking into the Ruf module about 3.5 years ago, I received a request from a guy in Germany (I think...somewhere in Euro) to swap with him. He said that his module raised/lowered at 38/78 mph, and he wanted one that raised/lowered at 5/48 mph. Anyway, I love my Ruf module.

As someone who recently replaced a spoiler motor ($$$) if I get another 911 I'll buy one with a fixed wing. It is needless automation that will eventually fail and cost $$$.

If the idea is to preserve the spoiler motor by making it operate less frequently, why not just unplug it when you will be unable to exceed 75 MPH, such as in the case of city drives. Would it be possible to install a switch to temporarily disable the motor from the driver's seat? Then you could turn it on when needed.
I also wonder if raising and lowering the spoiler has any effect on air conditioning performance?
I don't know about you, but for me $300 is a lot of money. I'd like to achieve the functionality without the high price of admission.

1996 Coupe (FS) 126K and spoiler works fine
1996 Targa 14K and spoiler works fine

The people who will buy one are as follows;
PD2FLY
Dane K
a95993tip
Ron
We need at least 1 more to make the deal work, maybe someone else will decide to get one.

Would somebody please jump in with the group buy...so Ron and the guys can get their RUF module. I would help out if I not already have one. I know it's a bit steep @ $300 but I could not agree more with Allen regarding the unit being the best mod he's ever done.
C'mon guys, just one more person.

Ron,
Have you tried posting this group buy on the 964 board??
The '91 and up 964s use the same 964 618 212 00 as our 993s, so I am sure the Ruf unit would work on their cars too.
Max......already with Ruf module
