Quick Question...
I'm considering a '95 993 as my first p-car. Will have to wait a few more months before I can start looking for one.
I like the TT look. Hence, I might sometime down the road install a turbo tail on my future '95 993. Here's the question...
Can this be done? What I really meant is, what do I do with the third brake light (on the basket handle) if I do install the turbo tail? Would I have to install a third brake light like the ones on the '96 and up 993's (on top of the rear windshield) if I wanna install the turbo tail?
I mean it looks great as it is without the turbo tail
So, if it's too much trouble, I would just forget about the idea
Thanks in advance for any responses.

Chris,
Yeah, I've already gone there but that is a '97 car. Hence, the third brake light is already at the top of the rear windshield. A '95's will be on the basket handle thingy...Hence, my question
Thanks for your response tho.

Ray,
Yeah, we do have to do the regular inspection once a year in my area. I'll have to find out if it would pass without the third brake light.
I would like to have a third brake light tho. It is really a good safety feature that I think all street cars should have. I almost ran into cars that didn't have a working third brake light quite a few times...
Thanks

Huey,
Good luck in your search for a ’95. I’m sure you’ll find a good one and be happy with it. I have a ’95. For a while, I was interested in adding a wing, but now I’m happy stock. When I was interested in a wing, I was concerned about the brake light as well. There are a couple of options. The easiest is to get a wing with the third brake light built in. There are also aftermarket brake lights that fit at the top of the rear window, just like the ’96+ cars. I understand that some of the late ‘95’s already have the wiring for this. If they don’t, or you get an early ’95, you could run into some wiring hassles with this approach. The third option is to get a wing that just replaces the stock spoiler, and leave the basket handle alone. The fourth option has already been mentioned, remove the basket handle and forget about it. You might get a fix-it ticket, though.

And, not all 95's have the basket handle spoiler; my 95 C4 coupe has the one mounted high on the back window. I would think you could mount that same light on a basket handle car with a little clever wiring by piercing the seal to get the power through.

[quote]Another option you can consider is the AERO KIT 1B from Gert. It has the 3rd brake light built in and it's Porsche OEM part...AND on sale from Gert NOW...

I love it!!! Order mod parts before getting the car. KC, you are a bad influence. If one orders parts before the car, I can only imagine what one would order after purchasing the car
The skies the limit...

Kim,
Theoretically speaking, I probably won't see you on the slopes unless i'm going down the slope at a higher velocity as compared to you
Observing your velocity down the slope, I don't think I can catch up
