Advice on seats

Answering my own question on adapters: sounds like all I need to attach the seats is to install this "universal' sliders directly onto the 993 floor. They allow me to attach seats on top and allow sliding back and forth.
There are options for with or without tabs, and inside or outside bar. I'm 5'10" - 5'11" but I need to boost my stock comfort seats to highest level so my line of sight could clear the damn windshield wipers. Should I go with tabs or no tabs?

I tapped straight into the metal plate of the seat to mount my seatbelt receptacle
One important note I'm surprised hasn't been mentioned is that the stock adjustment ***** for Recaro Sportster CS's are too bulky and prevent your rearward sliding capability significantly if not replaced by something like these: https://cantrellmotorsport.com/produ...limline-*****/ I sold my extra set to another local enthusiast who ran into the exact same issue.

Good point. I forgot to mention the thin back adjusting *****. The CS seats barely fit in the 993 tub. The thin ***** are a must have. Fair warning though, the CS seats will not adjust rearward as much as stock seats.

@c2_peter Thank you! I didn't know about this part. Also it is good to know I can easily attach my existing seat belt receptacles.

Wow I appreciate this. I could imagine myself frustrated by yet another unexpected obstacle (please see my seriously stripped bolts when trying to remove my seats).
No problem at all. Another FYI when you are shopping for the proper size drill&tap for the seat belt receptacle hole, it is SAE 7/16" fine thread*, not some crazy rare metric size (ie 11mmx1.25). There are multiple threads on RL and Pelican of people stripping threads assuming it was metric.

Buy Classic 9 seat covers and take your car to a well established and reputable upholsterer. Satisfies your desire to maintain originality.

Didn’t finish that video but it doesn’t look like he replaced the bulky adjustment ***** so that’s a negative.

I did had the same experience with mounting my seat belt receptacles. Asked local race shop how they mount them and did the same as above but I used stock hardware to retain them.

Recaro used to do custom upholstery orders but I don't think they do anymore. I would like a set of CS's but don't like the available offerings.

The PO of my current 993 had the front seats reupholstered in current Porsche OEM leather at a very high end shop in Texas. Cost was $3k and they are beautiful!
The fellow that recovered the seats…
