Default Part number for clutch pedal ignition safety switch for '97 993?

Hi everyone,

Woke up this morning to an issue with my 993: When I perform the immobilizer procedure (either switch to ON position, push button, start or lock, unlock, start) nothing happens. Do not think its the DME relay as there is no crank at all and it was just replaced a year ago. Seems to me that it's likely the switch that detects if the clutch is depressed or not when starting. I've seen threads here mentioning similar issues on 97/98 993s, but I could not find the part number for replacement. Everything I see on Suncoast or Pelican is for 99+.

Anyone have the part number or any ideas what else this could be? Car was on a tender recently so I do not believe the battery has gone. Issue first appeared about 2 weeks ago but after a few tries it worked and did not happen last week when running the car at all. Thanks everyone!

Edit: some sites have suggested it is the same as the 997 part: 997.613.109.50, can anyone confirm that?

This came up in a recent thread. (See post #17). The problem is that the PET catalog doesn't even show the clutch interlock switch (introduced in '97), just the clutch "microswitch" used to disengage cruise control in all model years. From the pic in post 17 it looks like it could be the same part used as the microswitch, but not really clear. Less likely it's a faulty starter relay, R61. Either way, a better solution to fixing or jumpering either is a starter bypass relay:

Just plug it into R61 and it'll take both issues off the table.

Darin from FD Motorsports gave me a call and it looks like the part number is 99361341600

That's interesting. PET calls out 993 613 415 00 for the "other" clutch microswitch (the one in all MY's). Here's what the 416 part looks like:

Jay, I am curious about the part you mentioned. It looks like it is some type of bridge adaptor to "hard wire" a relay circuit. This would be very useful for trouble shooting a suspected faulty relay that uses the same socket. Can you talk more about how this part operates? Does it perform the same function as jumpering a relay using a wire with the appropriate leads? That is a very clever solution! Thanks

Yeah, it's just a fancy way to bypass relay contacts. Install in place of relay 61 and you can crank the car even if the immo is armed and even if the clutch isn’t depressed (in 97's and 98’s). It'll bypass any relay of the same type, so could be useful in troubleshooting.
