Default Hotel recs for Porsche Parade?? (Fort Worth area)

Hi guys,

Looking for some hotel reccomendations near the track. I'm thinking about attending the DE and watching the clubrace during the Porsche Parade and possibly attending the parade events as well.

Don't need anything fancy. Just wanted to calculate approximate costs if I were to make the trek out there.

Thanks a bunch,

Princeton,

I grew up there, but am not sure about hotel choices. However, I can wholeheartedly recommend that you visit Angelo's Barbecue on White Settlement Rd at least once during your visit. It's a trip to heaven, and easily the best BBQ I've ever eaten my life.

Razoo's in the historic district downtown has good "Rat Toes" - jalapenos stuffed with crabmeat.

Have fun!!

Princeton,
This Hampton is a couple of years old & 5 min. from the track:

You might give it a try. When are you coming up?

When I looked earlier this year Hotels.com had $55 hotels near the track. We decided to stay at the Worthington which is $115 at the PCA discounted rate.

Princeton, have you registered for the Parade yet? You really should so you could be "in" on everything...... I know the Concours is open to the public since it is on Main Street, but I am not sure about everything else. At the past Parades we have attended, you had to be a registrant and wear a badge to get into everything. I'll check for you with the Parade Registrar and then get back to you okay? The Worthington is the Parade headquaters hotel and to get the registrants rate you have to do it by mail or fax with form that was mailed with the registration paperwork. I don't know what the hotels regular rate is. You never know... it may be less!

As for hotels near the track, we used the Hampton Inn. It's the same one that JW recommended. It is really close to the track and was clean (at least it was back then). It is right off of I-35. Can't miss it.....

JoAnne

PS: last I heard there were 600 cars registered......

Princeton,
M.S. is right. If you haven't registered, you still can. The banquets are only open for entrants. I am on the DE committee. If you want to do that, drop me a line & I will see if I can still get you in. Parade entrants get first spots in that as well. I'm doing DE tech & instructing then running in the CR end of the week. Should be a hoot! You should try to run TMS @ least once.

Also, I've scored a condo at the track so HWFMR partying/track viewing will be going on throughout the week. Great view of the track from up there & it has A/C. Let me know if I can help.

Princeton and all those asking about the Parade......

I just got an email from the Parade Registrar and she said the following:
1. Technically Main Street downtown is open to the public for the Concours.
2. Anyone can come into TMS for the DE and CR (Club Race) to watch.
3. Only Parade Registrants will be allowed in all areas, including Hospitality, tech sessions, goodie store etc. when wearing their Parade Badge.
She also said they would love for more people to be involved with the Parade, and understand that not everyone can be.

So if you just want to come on by and check out the Concours or the Driving events, you can and I bet you'll have a great time! But if you can try to register for the Parade. It is Porsche overload!!!!

Also very close to the track is the Doral Tesoro (sp?).

As others have said downtown is where most of the activities / read parties are going to be. There is a new Courtyard downtown in a cool old art deco building.

There is also the Radisson at the S. end of Main St.
This is the old Hotel Texas - if you score the Presidential Suite - you'll be in the room JFK + Jackie spent his last night.

Hope this helps
