Default Will Big Reds fit my non-widebody?

Before I get flamethrower rash for not using the search, let me clarify. My 18" Carrera 5 spoke wheels just fit with about a paint coat's width from rubbing my stock 993 C2 non-widebody, black calipers. So I'm just casually thinking about picking up a set of Big Reds, but don't want to get into endless modifications to make them fit.

I think I need spacers to make the bigger calipers mount to the wheel, correct? Then, are Big Reds any thicker, meaning in distance from rotor surface to the "PORSCHE" painted logo, than my stock calipers? If they are so much as a hair thicker than my stock calipers, I don't think they'll fit without getting hit by my wheels. So would I need wheel spacers then too?

Default They fit great

They will fit no problem. I think since they are slightly farther from the center, the spokes come out a little. They are not even close to rubbing.

Here's how they look on my car!

I couldn't resist!

Best of Luck!

Big Reds are only bigger in the radial direction by ~10mm than 993 calipers. As Randy pointed out they sit further away from the axle where there is generally a bit more room.

Their advantage comes from the 322mm rotors vs. 304mm stock.

This shot is of the car with the M030 RoW suspension, before the PSS9s.

Ok. So how much do the spacers run for mounting the calipers?

No spacers needed on my car...I know as I just removed the calipers, wheels, etc. to replace the rotors. Mine is a narrow body too.

Mine is also a narrow body. They are direct Bolt on, once the rotors are changed. There are NO Spacers needed. They fit perfect with PLENTY of room. I can fit a sponge in between to clean the calipers. There is no chance of them rubbing.

Enjoy!

Don't forget that if you are getting new calipers, you will also need new spiders for the larger pistons. That is if you use these to avoid squeal.

I don't use the spiders. My brakes sing a little. Next time I have the wheels off, I'll try some anti-squeal paste on the backing plates. It worked like a charm on a friend's 993.

Default Spiders and Squeel

When I run stock pads without spiders there is little to no squeel. Now with Pagid, that is another story.
