Hmm, 2007 for the GT3...direct injection. This is good stuff if you ask me. I finally might have something to look forward to in regard to a Porsche product.

The only slight misinformation I see is "For the first time in 21 years, Porsche is providing the regular 911 with engines of differing capacities." unless they don't consider the 993RS as a "regular" 911, and more of a limited production/homologation model.

Autoweek does make a few mistakes from time to time. They aren't the sharpest of mags out there.

Interesting the styling was influenced from 993 C4. Should be good for our 993 classic design resale.

Even if you don't count the 993RS (maybe because it was not available in the US?) what regular 911 was offered in 1983 with a different displacement?

There was a difference between the Euro and US versions of the 911SC, as I recall, possibly the early 3.2 Carrera as well; higher compression ratio versus the US models. It was good for something like 15-20 horsepower. Does that count?

Quote from Autoweek:

"Porsche has jettisoned the retro interior theme that has been around since the launch of the 996..."

Are they serious? What is retro about the 996 interior? I don't like it, but retro it's not.

The more I look at the pictures of the 997S, the more I like it. The styling is starting to really grow on me. I am very interested to see one in person and take it out for a spin.
The interior will always be a personal aesthetic preference for individuals - I love the 993 interior - spartan and badass, imo. I'm not sure if I could get used the the "more modern" look, but I would love to have the car for a weekend to give it a shot!!!
