Default 993 Cup info

Hi folks,
I just listed my '95 ex-Manthey Racing 993 Cup on Bring a Trailer and to help showcase the car I made a video that explains some of the nuances that make the cup cars special. I thought you fellow 993 nerds might find it interesting.

You can check out the video here:

Very cool! Never seen those air shocks in action before. Pretty slick.

Thanks for sharing!

BTW, my eagle-eyes couldn't help but notice that the RS front sway bar was paired with standard C2 drop links? Noticed the bend in the middle vs near the very top to angle around the brake line...

(yes, I hyper-analyzed every photo in the BaT listing over coffee this morning)

Ah yes, Japhet is the man! He took some incredible impromptu photos out on Angels Crest Highway.

Yeah I hate to see it go, but I'm building a medical device company and I'm trying to scrounge up all the capital I can so I don't have to give up equity! Ah yes the Red#2 car, gorgeous, I was trying to track down the owner to see if he is interested in adding his car's info to a registry/database of 993 Cup's my friend in France has put together.

All the 993 Cups had the motorsport headers which are NLA and prone to cracking, so very hard to find now. They ran the single O2 sensor catalyst with 200 cell cats and simple muffler bypasses.

Yes, the cups ran the stock drop links from the factory, but some folks changed there cars to aftermarket adjustable drop links after the cup series to make corner balancing easier. Sway bars are not the same as the RS. Here's a scan from the 993 Cup parts book.

Very interesting.. check clearance to the brake line, especially at full steering lock. Looks close in the photo above & I suspect the later RS link was designed as a result of this.

Gorgeous car & beautiful attention to detail. Best of luck with the auction, may your efforts be rewarded!

Thanks for clarifying! Presumed it had an RS sway bar.

Now the real question is (before this car is gone, along with all the paperwork that presumably goes with it), how much do we have to pay you to scan that whole 993 Cup parts book into a .PDF for us?

I'm joking but only partly. #993nerds
