Default Tensioning plate

How do I remove this tensioning plate along with the input shaft and output shaft?

Once all the nuts are removed holding the tensioning plate to the trans housing it should all slide out as one unit. Might have to tap on the pinion gear with a plastic mallet.

I tried that but it won’t budge. Are you sure?

Yes. You can also try to “lever” it up with a screw driver. Are you sure you got all the nuts? I think one is sort of hidden.

I just looked in the shop manual. There are 10 nuts holding the tensioning plate to the transmission. Did you get all 10?

Hey man. Sorry about not replying sooner. It turns out I didn’t hit hard enough with the mallet. I got it out. Thanks so much.

No problem. Looks like you need a new ring and pinion.
