I have always been a big Porsche fan and last week I bought my first one. It came with the stock CR-1 radio head unit, HI-FI and Digital Sound options, but no CD changer. I went to Tweeter to ask about changing the head unit to something with an in-dash cd player or getting a compatible cd changer. The saleswoman said that the entire digital sound amp and speakers would have to be replaced. And, they didn't have a compatible cd changer if I chose to keep my original head unit. Regarding the cd changer - I have read here that a Sony changer or an Alpine changer will work with the CR-1. Is this correct? Thanks.

When I bought my car it had an Alpine CD head unit that was hooked up to the Nokia Digital sound amp and it worked fine. I have since replaced the Alpine with a Kenwood head unit and that also is hooked up to the digital processor.
