I must say that this is but one reason why its soooo important to carefully choose who you buy a performance suspension from, or for that matter, anything else.

VERY few things are truly, "bolt-on" in the literal sense and most things on these cars require some fine-tuning & modifications to make things work as they are supposed to.

In a perfect world, manufacturers would work out all these problems & issues beforehand and supply everyone with everything you need, but that has simply has never been reality,...

This is why I stress how important experience and knowledge is toward having a performance part work correctly and meet expectations.

Steve, I too have some seperation between the shock and rear link, but it appears to be mostly on the opposite side of the shock's spherical bushing face. Or does that not matter?

Sort of. My monoballs were situated more evenly in the middle. They looked a bit strange to my eye.

I made those spacers to prevent the rear shocks from rotating too much on the spherical bearings at the bottom.

It prevents the upper end of the swaybar droplink from excessive lateral stress and failure.

Hey guys, I do not have a lathe like Steve so I have mine made up at a pretty cool site. Now is a good time to mention it as it comes in very handy. It is emachineshop.com You download their little CAD type program and you design your own parts. You specify the type of material (everything from white delrin to balsa wood to different grades of titanium), and even the type of machine you want it built on. You can then order any type of special finich like zinc chromating or anodidizing. Pretty cool and not expensive even for small runs.

Just thought I would pass it along as it has helped me fab up some of my own parts.

Is this "problem" specific to the ClubSport version?
I helped a friend install his "regular" Motons two years ago and didn't see a need for those spacers. Also on my JRZ's there doesn't seem to be any room for those spacers as the shock takes up all the space in the control arm.

I am "just up the road" and also have lots of odd material bits from Balsa to Titanium "on tap".

It was a field day for materials scronges like me when the Cold War ended and all of the local shops dumped their DoD materials. Great fun was had while rummaging through Alco Scrap Metal and Alan Steel for good polymer bushing materials, CrMo, Stainless like C440 and other Ti bar stock. I stashed a lot of it away just for the odd motorsports bits that might come up over the next many years...

I have Art's car here BTW with the bad rear wheel bearing. Man that is about as bad as it gets..... No wonder his car was a little unstable on the highway....

Your wheel bearing wasn't so much bad as it was trying to leave you upright and take the wheel along with it....
