Unique engine install experinces coming up
One of my friends owned a big independent Porsche and Ferrari service shop in New Orleans. They rebuilt after Katrina. Recently he semi-retired a now does projects out of his large at-home garage.
One of is current customers has a 993 which had its transmission trashed when another shop was hired to changed the tranny oil. The transmission got trashed when the shop ran the car with the wrong amount of oil in it (under-fill).
I am going to help him do an engine out service, clutch, and re-install the transmission/engine.I have never done this before.
Should be a real treat - he has been doing this for 35+ years. I post pics when the time comes.
He is last of breed of mechanics from the past.

Sure, will post when the time comes.
He was going to rebuild the transmission himself, but couldn't source one of the shafts that was needed.
He found a business that had the part, but they would only sell it if they would be able to repair the transmission itself. So, he had to box it and ship it and is waiting for it to come back.
