Default 993 DME wiring help

Hi All -
I am in the middle of swapping a 1997 3.6 VRAM with 25k miles into a 1984 carrera 3.2. I purchased the engine from a 993 that had an interior fire and have spent the day meticulously going through the wiring harness to ensure it doesn't happen again. As you’ll see with the pictures below, there was an issue with the DME harness at some point.

Now I am trying to salvage this wiring harness, most of which is in very good shape. But there are 5 wires that currently lead to nowhere... my job is to identify the wires, patch them correctly and then, hopefully source the connector to need to make this all happen.

The wires in question are on the same branch of the harness as these three connectors...

From some other pictures on the internet I have dug through of 993 harnesses, these two connectors (in red) are not on my harness...

and the wires that currently go to nowhere are a white/green, a green / blue , a white, and 2 browns.

So... can someone help me understand what these wires do, and whether there is somewhere on earth I can source the connectors needed? Thanks so much everyone I appreciate it! I would really prefer not to spend $2500 on a beat up used harness if I can avoid it.

What ECU are you running? You can use an OBD1 ECU on a Vram, all the RoW 993's were OBD1.

Hi SG,
The wire colors and their destinations are on the wiring diagram listed on the below page for the 1996 (varioram) version:
https://993servicerepair.blogspot.co...-diagrams.html

Also, I am not a fan of crimp connectors being reliable in the long run with vibration and heat cycling. Better to solder the connections and jacket them in heat shrink.

Thank you Andy for your response. I will take a look at the diagrams. Very helpful! Yes I agree on the crimp connectors. I will definitely do a much better job than what was on it when I got the harness. Thank you again

To close the loop on this - it was the intake temp sensor and the throttle position sensor that were missing from my damaged harness. Fortunately both are easy to source connectors and this harness will live to see another day.
