Question Best Online 993 Sales Site?

I have done most of my research using autotrader.com. What other dealers or sites out there have a lot of cars for sale?

Thanks

Shark,

IMHO, the best place to find a pcar at a good price is from a authorized Porsche dealership.
Email me off the board and I will explain in detail why.

But lets just say, trade in value on Pcars are extremely low right now. In the event that you can find the car your looking from a authorized dealership, they will have the best prices.

I called every dealership in a 20 state radius before I found mine and I got a great deal. Dealerships need the turnover and if someone traded one in, you can probably work a very good deal. Especially if the car was traded in after 9/11..

good luck.

I have found www.porscheclassified.com good for pics but prices seem high. www.californiacars.com has a decent selection, all with pics. Prices are good though many local dealers and mechanics question the quality of the cars. I have found the cars there to appear in good shape but, I'm no mechanic. Very helpful sales people - but I have been told by one mechanic that they will not let you take the car to your own shop for pre-purchase evaluation. I have not tested this myself yet.

What about the Rennlist Classifieds and their affiliated website Thalist.com

200 Quality Highline dealers New and Independent belong to Thalist group, and their classisieds are merged with Rennlist. There is also a Free vehicle locator service on Thalist.

I'd also talk to Brian Buxton at Buxton Motorsports. He can get you anything you want and knows his Porsches. He is the former president and founding member for the Southern Indiana Region of PCA. Honest guy and easy to deal with. Another interesting place is Holt Motorsports I have heard good things about them but have never dealt with on a transaction.

When I was looking for a 993 last year, both hot prospects (one in Boston and one in San Diego)that I found came from www.cars.com. Expand the search area to nationwide. This site has listings from the major newspapers from around the country, plus paid ads.

Good luck.
