I know the difference between these two... Gillet is the triangular connection between the headers adn the cat converters. Bischoff is the rectangular connection between them.
My question here is which 993's had Gillet and which ones had Bischoff? I was told the early 993s were Bischoff 94-96....
any info on this subject would be great
TIA

Bischoff was superceded by Gillett during the MY '96 production. Mufflers from different manufacturers have different part numbers.

as you and Viken mentioned Bischoff style flange (flat oval style) was used 1st..........later Porsche switched to round Gillet flanges.
By the way all 1994-1998 993 CUP cars used bischoff style factory headers with oval flanges.....they never switched to the gillet.
the oval flange bischoff is the same flange used on 911sc and 3.2 Carrera headers........

Radar,
The name is probably a little misleading. It's a ctually a 996 C4, but I put the factory GT3 areokit and did a few modifications to the motor to make it "GT3"... hence the quotations.
Sorry about that.
