I posted this in the mentioned thread but wanted to make sure you saw it re: the Gemballa Competition wheels.
I also have the Gemballa wheels. THE 8 x 18 and 10 x 18's DO NOT FIT THE NARROW BODIED 993'S, regardless of what Heinz or other seller will tell you. Look great on a TT or widebody, but my car ('98 993 Cab) with the M030 suspension doesn't work. I found out the hard way, new suspension and wheels on the same day that I was leaving for a track event. Tires (265 x 18's) rubbed on the way to the track and scrubbed the entire weekend.
Gemballa's for sale.

Hi Jeff
Sorry to hear that. But, do you know what's the off-sets of your wheels? From what i learnt, these wheels come in a wide range of off-sets and sizes (from 8.5/9/10/10.5/11) to fit narrow/wide body 993/996 Boxsters and 964.
I've lowered my car (narrow body) to RS specs with the H&R coilovers (ie ~20mm lower than yours if you have the ROW M030). Have rolled the front fenders but done nothing to the rear (and my rear is 11x18 ET52 with 285/30 ties). Have it for 2 weeks and no rubbing so far. If my calculation is right, my new rear wheels extended out by 26mm and it just cleared the rear fenders. Do yours rub on the inside or outside walls?
I think the seller has probably gave your a pair that's not meant for the narrow body 993. Check with the seller and get them to change it to a pair with an off-set that works.

FWIW, here are the various sizes these wheels are available in:
8.5J x 18 ET 46
9.0J x 18 ET 27
9.0J x 18 ET 40
9.0J x 18 ET 52
10.0J x 18 ET 40
10.0J x 18 ET 52
10.5J x 18 ET 47
11.0J x 18 ET 40
11.0J x 18 ET 62
With this many sizes, there's got to be a set that fits your car.

I have gone back and forth with Heinz at Gemballa a couple of times now without much luck. I will try again to see if the other offsets are available. When I originally got these, he was pretty adamant about these being the correct wheels for the narrow body and his suggestion was to have my fenders rolled.
Thanks for the information. Hopefully these can be made to work.

What's the offset of the rear? You should be able to fit 18x10 ET52 without any problem. Look at the back of the wheels, they should have the offset printed.
Check out my post 'New mod. to share'.
Good luck.

Digging this post up from the past b/c I am finally getting around to selling my Gemballa's. Checked the offset and found that it is 52, however, the wheel is 11"! Originally, Gemballa sent a 10.5" and I returned them for a 10" They sent the wrong size and I never checked.
Stupid me.

Kai,
My 'chart' shows that if original wheel was 9" with 70 offset (is that stock 993 rear offset?) and you now have 11" with 52 offset, your wheels should be 43.4 mm more out & 7.4 mm more in.

If you want to use 18x11 at the rear (narrow body), you would need to use ET 62 as the offset.
The wheels that you have is for widebody.

I called Heinz and he has graciously agreed to take these back and send the correct size. I just can't believe that the wrong wheels were sent and I never checked.

Flying Fin
9 and 70 off sets are for 17 wheels, 18 wheels are 10" wide and ET65
<a href="http://p-car.com/technical/tires.htm" target="_blank">Check this</a>
Jeff
That's weird... I m using 11x18 ET52 now and no rubbing... has been more than 6 months now. Will go double check my width and off-set again

Jeff - FWIW I have the 18" Competition wheels on my 98 cab - 8.5" and 11" with 225 and 285 SO2s. My rear tires do not rub inboard or against the fenders but my fenders are rolled.
I had orininally ordered the 10s and when the 11x came in I had doubts that they would fit. In fact, then the car was on the lift it looked like the tires would protrude by 1.5" but once the car was on the ground, the negative camber tucked them in nicely.
