Targa cell phone antenna placement
I recall, but could not find in the archives, some discussion of cell phone antennas placed either along the front bumper support or under the dash. I have a 97 Targa and do not want an external antenna. Does anyone know where I might be able to find one of the above referenced antennas? A general web search turned up nothing. The only archive reference was to a Hirschman Disc Antenna as part of a Techart installation on a 996. Any help is greatly appreciated. BTW, I need a dual band antenna due to my location in rural southern Ohio.

John,
Check out canyonriver.com. They have both the Hirschmann disk antenna and Hirschmann bumper mount antennas.
I'm running a similar design inside mount from Andrew Wireless. It's square rather than hockey puck shaped, like the Hirschmann, and has a 12 or 15' cable, rather than the 8' cable that comes with the Hirschmann.
I mounted the antenna on the rear glass of my Audi S6 avant and needed the extra length of cable.
I'm using a Nokia 6160 and Nokia CARK91. Works great with this antenna.
