Picking up my car at LAX airport this evening, I saw a 993 coupe in white, with a 2 foot black stripe down the center. I've never seen such a paint job, and was wondering if the owner was on Rennlist - I'd be interested in the background.

Was it a C4S? Some broker in San Diego had a white C4S with a black stripe down the middle recently. As I recall, the asking price was suspiciously low. I called to ask if the stripe was removable, but the car had sold.

Not sure what a racing stripe is, but it looked like a black and white version of the Dodge blue and white stripe.

it may well have been the same car from SD - SD would certainly be a close catchment area for LA and Orange County. And it was certainly unusual

I don't know what model it was, but I think it was a narrow body. I was in a rush to get home: should have gone to look closer

I remember seeing a Techart or Gemballa modified machine in a recent 911 & Porsche World. It was white with a black stripe that looked liked a tire tread.

Looked quite snazzy, but a little bit too ostentatious for my liking...

I was thinking of getting a naked chick painted on the bonnet and some flames on the wheel arches.
