Post Helo needed, Shocks & springs....

My 96 993 c4s has 26.6k mi on it, Its getting abit loosey goosey at higher speeds. So I guess I need new shocks and springs.

1. will replacing just shocks and springs do the job? or do I need to replace the whole suspension?

2. Ideas on what to buy?

Thanks again.

Rolo, if you want to keep the US factory set up you shouldn't have to replace the springs just the shocks. However, if you think you are going to want to upgrade the suspension in the near future this would be the time to do anything

Look at Robin's site for a good discussion of different upgrade choices.

By the way if decide you want springs that will lower the car, I have a set of H&R Stage II springs that I will sell cheap.

I'd be surprised if your car really needs new shocks and springs at only 26.6k miles. Springs last a very long time, but you could have your shocks tested for compression and rebound. They do lose some dampening over time, but that shouldn't be what's recently making your car loosey goosey (whatever that is). I think you should have the car checked for what else might be causing loosey goosey. It could be tires, broken swaybar mount, etc. Of course, if you're just wanting an excuse to upgrade your suspension .....

Rolo, I am with Jim on this. Many of us feel the same about the loosey goosey at high speed. I am a new P owner and i have a feeling this is just a natural feeling of the rear engine car. But then there were others who previously owned p cars and complained the same

I went through a lot of trouble trying to fix this loosey goosey but didn't realy go anywhere. One quick check is your tire pressure.
