Noted this passenger top door hinge bolt loose and hanging but not moveable. Is this a must fix to do now ? Door is flush with fender and closes and opens fine.
Ahem if it were mine I would be trying to figure out a way to tap this back in , from the way it looks in your photo it is about half way in meaning only the lower section of the hinge is connected ..
You may be able to position a long screwdriver from the bottom and tap it back into position ..just saying , Bert
This needs to be pushed back in as since it came out partially, it could fall out completely. Before attempting to push it back in protect all the paint in the area with masking tape as it will be easy to chip the surface with a missed or slipped tool strike. I don't believe I have ever seen something like this. Has the door ever been taken off in the past?
Those bolts always seem to show about a half inch of reveal below the head (which is on the bottom). Yours shows more so there's something not right, but I don't think they typically are completely snug. I'd investigate that a bit more before hitting with a hammer...

Hi,
That pin should be in up to the serrations in the shank near the bottom. The serrations keep the pin inserted. As it is the top pin it's crucial reinsert it as soon as possible, having it come and will do some serious damage to the car. I suspect it's working it's way out everytime the door is opened and closed.
Porsche use a special tool to remove and intal them but it can be tapped in with a hammer and a suitable drift if you take care.
I'm always curious why this bolt is installed this way rather than the opposite direction to take advantage of the gravity. I thought Porsche installer made a mistake for this very reason.

100% !!! Going to indy shop tomorrow and looks like he may have the tool to help get the pin back into place. Far better than me even thinking of trying to attempt this. Psx door staying closed until I get there tomorrow am. Will update!!! Appreciate the support and tips from the 993 club here.
Ok, indy shop took a long screw and hammered it gently until it got decent purchase. Then he used this special device until the top end of the pin was sitting above the hinge. Good thing I swung by the shop vs trying a DIY attempt. Thanks to all for the comments and suggestions!. Onto the next 993 things to do 👍!!!
