Funny noise coming from my engine
After pulling into my garage tonight, I heard several "meows". I wondered if a stray cat had wandered into the garage.
Not so simple, I'm afraid, because the noise is coming from the engine compartment! It sounds like my uninvited hitchiker is scared to death, but still alive.
How the hell that poor soul ever found its way into that tight space is beyond me. My car is lowered, and my engine cover is still in place.
I plan to let the engine cool, and take off the cover. I'm not looking forward to the terrified kitty attack when he (or she) finally sees the escape hatch! Has this ever happened to anyone else?

This is absolutely horrifying. Being a cat person I am so worried about that poor kitty in your engine. Oh I hope the kitty is OK. This news has ruined my evening.

This reminds me of the time that I was camping once and I drove to the campsite and turned my car off.. It was a cold evening and before we left in the morning, I decided to check my oil. When I opened my hood, two rodents were on the top of my engine and quickly squirried away.
Might have been messy if I had not opened the hood before I turned the car over.

I took off the underbody trays, and managed to finally coax the little gal out. She's pretty adorable (white, grey, and black & about 6 inches long - no wonder she was able to squeeze into those tight spaces). I'm not much of a pet guy, but I'd guess she's no more than 2-3 weeks old. Thank goodness, no missing body parts or visible damage.
After about 30 minutes of reassurance, she's purring and drinking some milk. Needless to say, my 3-year old son and 2-year old daughter think she's the "cat's meow" (I know, bad one! )
I may be stuck with her. What a weird way to expand the family.

Great story Anir
I told my wife about your earlier post and she will be relieved to hear that the little mite was safe.
I hope she brings you many years of pleasure.

Anir,
Sounds like "Turbo Kitty" was looking for a nice warm place to take a nap. Those twin turbochargers probably fit the bill just nice. Great story!

I'm almost too embarassed to say it, but my son named her...yes, "Porsche". I don't have the heart to change the name, and it does kind of fit the situation.
She's staying, and currently watching the F1 encore presentation with me - crummy 10 second violation they levied against Ralf for crossing the white line on the way out of the pits. Really made the hair stand up on the back of Porsche's neck.
