P-Car Certificate of Authenticity
Hi everyone,
I have a question...I was reading an Excellence article on a 914 restoration, and they mentioned that the owner had obtained a certificate of authenticity from the original dealer. Since I am leaving the Bay Area (and Palo Alto where my car was originally sold), next week for Houston, I was wondering what such a certificate is and if it would be worthwhile to get one from this dealer.
Any thoughts?
Sean

They could be referring to the Cert. of Authenticity from PCNA. You can acquire one by sending $30.00 and proof of ownership to:
Wayne Stone
980 Hammond Dr. #100
Atlanta, GA. 30328
allow 4-6 weeks for delivery

Is Wayne Stone the person at PCNA? In any case, I just wanted to add that I think i made my check to PCNA at that address. Also, check my reply and especially Viken's reply at this link:-

Did you buy the car new? Do you have the window sticker? This is the best proof of certificate of authenticity I would say; has all the OE options on your car, plus prices which I don't think come on the certificate. If you don't have this, then certificate might be nice. Otherwise, I feel it's just a pretty piece of paper to have with little benfits.
One place where the certificate might be of value is if it has the engine and tranny serial nos. Otherwise, I don't see a need for it if you have the window sticker.

Ran,
Sorry, I didn't read the earlier post from you and Viken and yes it is the same Cert. of Authenticy. The signature is the same guy I'm referring to Wayne Stone at PCNA.
