Post Rubber Treatment

I just purchased and applied a BMW manufactured rubber treatment called "Gummi-Pflege Rubber Care" (BMW # 82 14 9 407 015) $7.50. My mechanic recommended it to treat all the door and top seals. My first impression is that it will last a longer than the silicone spray that I've been using. This gooey stuff seems to soak into the soft rubber rather than sitting on the top.

Here's another rubber seal care product that works well & with its built in foam applicator is easy to apply. It preserves rubber, keeps it from drying & cracking, and prevents rubber seals from freezing to doors in winter. Good stuff & the small tube is still going strong after several years use for 3 cars.

Find it at <a href="http://www.carcareonline.com/wurth_rub_care_gel_11316.html" target="_blank">CAR CARE SPECIALTIES ONLINE</a> as well as other high end suppliers.

I've also had good results with the Wurth product.

Anir & Dan -
That other stuff may work fine but it isn't nearly as much fun to say as "Gummi pflege".

Can either of these products be used to help eliminate the whitening of the rubber seals from wax and exposure to the sun? I've noticed that if I'm not careful when applying Zaino, and it gets on the rubber seals around the windows, they become discolored.

Thanks,
Sam

I've used Black Again for many years. It's the best I've found, but regretably the company went out of business a few years ago, although I still have some left. Another company bought the name, but, <a href="http://www.carcareonline.com/" target="_blank">Car Care Online</a> says <a href="http://www.carcareonline.com/black_again_10801.html" target="_blank">it's not the same stuff</a> and suggests "you might try the One Grand Exterior Rubber Treatment or 3M Rubber Treatment."

Here's an <a href="http://forums.rennlist.com/forums/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f=3&t=002402" target="_blank">archived thread on point.</a>.

Dan,

Thanks for your help. Now I will begin my search to find "Forever Black," or the 3M rubber treatment.
