Question Keyless entry battery

Hello, first of all thanks to everyone for the wealth of information you share on our favorite air cooled 911. I was wondering if anyone able to purchase a replacement battery for their keyless entry remote locally--more specifically in Michigan. I have four to replace but would rather get it locally than the web. If not available can you please tell me what website to order from? Thanks in advance

As regards remote, yes, I bought it locally. My manual says that an alkaline A23 is the one for my 993. My Porsche dealer says he gets it at Radio Shack btw though I got it elsewhere.

However, as regards the mini key light, I could not change the battery as I could not get access to it but did not bother since light still works and I was only trying to do it while I was at replacing the remote battery.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did go to Radio Shack but the closest one they had was the same height but the diameter was a bit larger by a millimeter or so. These batteries I purchased which did not fit are marked 1.5v 23-023 and the one in the remote says 12v. The salesperson was quite clueless at that Shack, I'll try another one tomorrow. Thank you both and all for the reply. At least I know I can get them locally. Happy motoring.

Yes, try another Radio Shack. I just remembered that I found mine at the second Radio Shack I went to.

Staples seems to have these batteries in stock pretty much all the time. They are Duracell MN21's.

The RadioShack part # is 23-154 for a 2 pack. It is a 12v battery & is inexpensive, so buy 2. Use 1 for your replacement. Keep the other in the car in case your remote battery should die - to avoid a world of trouble w/o a functioning remote.
BTW, the same battery is used in many garage door remotes - it's a pretty common size (same as #23, 23M, VR22, EL22 - among others).

My wife bought the correct battery for me at Target (camera counter).
