car cover

I wouldn't recommend an outdoor car cover. It'll probably do more damage than good.
If, on the other hand, you keep your car very clean and want to protect it from dust inside your garage, I'd recommend a flannel car cover.
I have one for my TT and it works out great. I don't use it much anymore. My garage keeps my car pretty clean.
However, the manufacturer is CoverKing and they have a website at <a href="http://www.coverking.com." target="_blank">www.coverking.com.</a> However, I didn't see any available for a turbo S. The extra spoiler height of the turbo s would make the TT cover not fit properly.
Btw, here is some good general info on car covers: <a href="http://www.carcareonline.com/car_cover.html" target="_blank">http://www.carcareonline.com/car_cover.html</a>

ps, I pretty much feel the same way about bras on cars also. I just gave mine away.

tgh001,
I've been using car covers for years without any damage whatever to the finish. The "trick," if you can call it that, is that the cover MUST be used on a clean car; any grit between the cover and finish will leave the obvious results. If it's windy that day or the car is dirty (say after a rain) no cover until I clean the car.
At work my car gets covered, and when I get home I do a quick dust to keep the car grit-free for the next day's commute. Again, been doing this for years with several cars and never had a problem. For a cover, try Covercraft, but there are a bunch out there to choose from.

I bought a porsche car cover, and that seems to keep my turbo s under wraps pretty well. It's gargaged, but I have a dog that's been known to get excited and jump on the car. Paws leave the worst scratches on a black car.
But I agree, keeping it clean then covered does the job nicely.

The best car covers are by <a href="http://www.covercar.com/ing_index.htm" target="_blank">Cover Car - Italy</a>. They are the OEM cover manufacturer for Ferrari. You can order a custom Porsche cover with a 12" colored crest on the front from Rennlist sponsor <a href="http://www.carnewal.com" target="_blank">Carnewal.com</a>.

I have a Porsche OEM car cover that I have been using to cover my car since moving it to California about 3 months ago. I have been very please so far - fits snug with a strong elastic band around the bottom that has proved itself in fairly windy conditions. I think any Porsche dealership should be able to sell it (not sure if the 993/996 sizes are different). As I recall the prices is about $ 375 or so.

Suncoat Porsche, a rennlist sponsor, has a sale of them now. This was from the main rennlist page:
<a href="https://rennlist.com/rennparts/suncoast.htm" target="_blank">https://rennlist.com/rennparts/suncoast.htm</a>
PNA 502 993 993 Car Cover $99.95
You'd better check that it's for a turbo S first though!

My part number is 506 993. And it has Turbo written on it. Not sure what the differences are, but mine fits fine. But I did pay twice as much <img src="graemlins/cussing.gif" border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" />
At least I got my bra at a great price

I use a flannel cover every day when I park the car at work. If it gets caught in the rain, I put it in the dryer when I get it home. I try to keep the car fairly clean, but it is often slightly grubby. I wash the cover regularly, and replace it every few years. My point is I feel that the benefits of keeping the car out of the UV rays of the sun far outweighs any "damage" I might be doing to the paint. My black 1992 NSX looked like new after it got a nice professional detailing, prior to putting it up for sale. The interior and paint show no fading, and any cover induced scratches that might have been in the clearcoat were removed as a part of the detailing process.
Cheers All.

It's one of the plain grey cotton ones with a nice soft flannel interior. Zero percent waterproof! I think it came from Porsche, I'd have to ask Mark where he got it. Mark if you're lurking, maybe you could post where you got it?
It is almost identical to the NSX one I had which came from Acura.
I think the key is a REALLY snug fit in both cases.
