Talking HWFM Racing Team Application

Mike,

Well it's time for me to apply for a spot on the wonderful HWFM Race Team.

I've recently taken delivery of my 2004 GT3. I'm a former Formula Renault, F2000 and F3 driver and although at one point I was pretty quick, at this point although I have a fast car, I am very slow...my motto is here comes a corner, here comes a spin and I've never met a wall I didn't like...as a result my lap times are horrendous. I've driven at some of this world's most wonderful tracks and I 've always found a way to be really slow. I've either hit walls or spun at each of these tracks. In Road America in a F2000 car I figured a new way to go through the kink, unfortunately I never told the track workers to move those large heavy objects, aka retaining walls out of my way. At Monza, one of the fastest tracks in the world, in F3 car I was such a hazard to other drivers that I was told to pit in, I tried explaining to the officials that the guardrail at the Lesmo's reached out and took one of my wheels. At Paul Ricard, in my first Formula Renault race (during practice), one of the track workers asked when I would be on the track so that he could take a break, seeing as I would probably make him work, you know helping me out of the gravel. It once took me longer to lap around Sebring than it did for me to do a walk through of the track...it took about an hour and a half get my car out of the tire wall in turn 17 and clean all the debris I left behind. As far as title is concerned I believe I should be The Increase your Lap Time Instructor...so what do you do say and let this slow guy into the team, I don't expect a prompt response as that would contradict the philosophy, so when you get a chance and please drive slow enough so that people can read your tire size...

MJ

very witty, and just the kind of driver we need. An impressive array of underperformance in a wide variety of fast cars.

"drive slow enough so that people can read your tire size..."
Now that should be our new standard of slow, unless someone can have his or her crew add air pressure to the tires while driving.

Since this just went up, I do have to give team mates a chance to comment. As you know, we try not to do anything too quickly.

It is not often I comment of potential members, but your credentials are especially impressive. I have two questions:

1) Do you keep a tally of all the corners you have not YET spun/crashed at for each track you run?

2) Following your very best lap, do you come in and say to yourself "Wow, that didn't suck too bad"?

If those are both yes, then you have my support.

I think your username oozes speed. How can we slow that down? I think all it will take is beer in Steve OFE's belly and you are in.

As far as my name it's a decoy...shh don't tell anyone else

John,
The plate was just ordered, but once I have it I will take a picture for you.

Sunday,
I know all the corners I've not gone off on and after my fastest laps I would come in say...."no, no, no, I can go much slower next time, trust me, wanna see??"

Thanks,

MJSpeed (AKA The Mobile Chicane)

BTW - I also owe you an apology.......

When I was cruising through the Rennlist GT2/GT3 Forum earlier today - I got wrapped up on my real job, so I forgot to post.......

CONGRATULATIONS on your purchase!!! And, don't listen to Viken about "white" Porsches - we all know "white" is faster...

Yep - I also like your plate - A LOT!!!! "RENNZEN"..

Outstanding.....

And congrats.....

And - Welcome....

Impressive application MJ! I would gladly welcome you to the team if not for our bylaws that all prospective applicants should be Rennlist members to qualify.
So while you do not meet the required standards yet, I think my boss Big T will agree that we shall keep the position you requested open till you can join us as a full member.

Dear Esteemed Sir/Madam...

Hang tight.... "Rennlist Corporate" executives are looking into this matter as I type this.... I believe they will render a decision once they have shoveled all the money from todays proceeds into the Brinks truck.....

Hang on for the ruling..... Jen just got back from her real job...
