Default How many 993s

Does anyone know where I can get info on the number of 993s Porsche built in each year of production?

I am guessing that '95 was most due to the extended modle year.

Thanks

Link to Porsche page with worldwide production info:

993 Production by model

Here is a rough estimate of the North American cars that somesome sent me a few years ago. As mentioned previously, the Red Book breaks it down exactly by model.

US/Canada by MY (all models):

95 - 10,600
96 - 7,400
97 - 8,600
98 - 2,600

This was in Excellence #121 Article was done by Jim Pasha. Here's what he said.

With the help of Bruce Anderson and PCNA I've tallied the number and type of Porsche 993s that came to the U.S. between 1994 and 1998.

1994:
14 Carrera coupe
3 Carrera Cab
Total = 17 (note: These were probably press cars since there wasn't a 1994 993 in the U.S.)

1995:
3,540 Carrera Coupe
539 Carrera 4 Coupe
3,200 Carrera Cab
458 Carrera 4 Cab
Total=7,737

1996
2,109 Carrera Coupe
411 Carrera 4 Coupe
1,091 Carrera 4S Coupe
2,092 Carrera Cab
1,297 Turbo
484 Carrera Targa
Total=7,484

1997
1,286 Carrera Coupe
1 Carrera 4 Coupe
759 Carrera S Coupe
937 4S Coupe
1,849 Carrera Cab
612 Turbo
176 Turbo S
567 Carrera Targa
Total=6,187

1998
1,292 Carrera Coupe
1,059 Carrera Cab
143 Carrera 4 Cab
122 Carrera Targa
Total=2,616

Total 993 models brought into the U.S.= 24,041 (officially)

Scott,

Hey, thanks for that post. I had wondered what the production numbers were. They sure are a lot lower than I would have guessed. Nice of you to provide that info.

No Problem guys, glad I can give you some info.

Grant, The article didn't say anything about ROW. Just NA. Sorry

The other thing I noticed it didn't say how many C2S, C4S, and Turbo, were brought in 1998. Which I thought was odd.

Does anyone know what the 996 production numbers are? Just curious to see how they compare with the 993 numbers.

Something is wrong, 1998 has no narrow body except targa and Cab.
and I am quite sure there are MY 98 C2S and C4S 's

Wow.. great info. I didn't realize the Targa was wider in the rear than the regular narrow body.. I thought I saw a difference, but this proves it. Thank you all for the thread!!

Okay, rookie question. I assume that C4 cab production didn't stop between '95 and '98 so were they counted in the cabriolet numbers or the C4 figures in '96 and '97?

Jonathan,

The Targa is not wider than the other standard body cars.

993 C2S and 299 C4S add up to the 1292 total Coupes produced for the US market for 1998 Model Year.
