I found the 19" turbo twist wheels on FVD's website
http://www.fvd-web.com/fvd-usa/index-usa.html
They are more expensive: $615/$655. Are these the same wheels that Tire Rack sells?

boostid and William.
Thanks for the info. Now I know better what I have. William, seems that they are the same, but what a huge price diff. Also, seems strange that Tire Rack is asking more for the fronts than rears...

FWIW, I just found out that 285/30x18s will not fit on MY 1995 C2 and C4.
Bummer, They look nice on later cars. I love those five spokes!!Just ordered myself a set after seeing all your pics.
Thanks guys!!
BTW, Non hollow spoke turbo twists are very heavy!!!!

.....how did you find out??........mounted them and they rub?.......
I'm really perplexed and may wet the bed before i can decide on 265 or 285 rears......i'm sure i'd like the fatter look of the 285s but i'm a bit worried about rubbing and "hunting" at high speed .....

I ordered 18 inch five spoke factory light weight wheels and tires from David@wheel enhancement today . He, W/E seem to carry a lot of weight around here informed me that for MY 1995 265 was the max for the rear. Based on some of the pictures I have seen with that side given my suspension, I am campagning a pretty serious entry level DE car.

The 993 is a VERY serious entry level car. Horsepower and power to weight ration, the varioram 993 @282 HP, or the 1995 chipped 993 @ about the same HP, is very similar to a 1989 911 Turbo car, with a few exceptions. The 993 has better brakes, ABS, power steering, modern LSA rear suspension with kinematic toe in correction, coil over suspension all away around, for starters. You also get a 6 speed tranny, and you get ABS, and you get ABS...I emphasize ABS because I have driven on the track with the ABS in the off mode on my 993.
Right away I saw the difference, lighting up the tires on severe braking with the resulting flat spotting of tires. 993 ABS is a huge improvement over the earlier cars, huge.

martin......i think you are spot on with the ABS, but much more so in the wet..... when you are talking about severe braking at the limit, i might guess that going from ABS, and its inherent elimination of the "feel", to conventional brakes which require the right "touch" to keep them from locking up, you need some time to get that "touch" back.....ABS lulls us into that mash-the-pedal syndrome.....i've read a number of reports that, in dry conditions, the really good professional drivers prefer the conventional brakes.......me, i'll take technology anytime

I just love those technologies that supplement lack of real serious driving talent...ABS, LSA Weissach 993 rear suspension and a nice RS aero package that keeps the car on the ground at speed. The real sticky tires are a nice plus as well.

Just switched from 17" Cup wheels to 18" turbo twists, going from 255 285/30 for the rears. My car is lowered pretty much. I do not experience rubbing, even with people in the rear seats (yes, it happens ). Ride quality, not much difference, then again my car was already pretty noisy/bumpy with Techart exhaust system, Sparco drivers seat and lowering springs. I still hesitate whether to run the 18"s all-around or just for street, going to other pads + the 17" for the track. I still have some time to decide...
My car is a narrow-bodied 95, so I don't see why someone here got the recommendation that the 285's do not fit. Agreed, the car is set with pretty aggressive camber for the track, which might help the outside of the tires.
Look, I even found a pic:
