It is a blast to drive. Headed to Watkins Glen today for a on-track checkout.

Jeff does have a special recipe for his 4.0L builds!
The 997GT3 4.0 crankshaft is the starting point for the custom Mahle PC set, maximum length Carrillo rods, custom Extreme heads with massive valves and Elgin cams.

Love the detail pics of the build. Keep 'em coming. Beautiful, well thought out car.

One Q: At this point, is there a better electro-hydraulic PS pump to use than the 997 TRW pump? I had one on my car for a few years and didn't like how long it took to spool up and how loud it was. Ended up going back to stock PS.

Thanks much!
Too bad now that I am finally done after 2+ years, you didn't have a Palmer 993 event this year.

I was concerned about noise/vibration for my street use as well. I fabricated a 1/4" subplate to mount all of the trunk components on, to spread out the load and detune the vibration of the steel trunk pan.
The shop were I got the pump said their track car experience was flawless, except for the leaking reservoir cap. FTW even for $1800 the cap still leaks a bit!
The slow spool up is only on first start. On track today it was flawless as promised.
And the noise at idle from inside sounds like I distant siren. After that I can't hear it.

Like arts and crafts in school.

Wow. This is well done. This is the way to do it, all the modern goodies in the classic 993 form, with the factory RS styling.
