The one under the trunk lid isn't exposed to water though, where as the door jamb takes on water directly from either washes or rain.

It looks like a thermal paper or thermal transfer label made on a Zebra printer. My inclination would be to put some 3M clear packing tape over it. It would laminate it for future moisture protection and also hold all its edges down going forward. Otherwise, I would pull it and forget it.

Both my 94 968 and 96 993 that the paper labels on the passenger door post. They both show the Vin/Serial Number with the bar code. The top one is the red 993, the bottom is black 968
