Default Help with drop link mount on Bilstein B6

Newbie question - I'll be installing B6's on the rear in the next coupe of days. I've already done the fronts. As I'm new to suspension work, how do I know where to set the drop link mount on the strut? Maybe it will become evident when installing, but now, looking at it, I don't see why it's even adjustable.
Thanks

Take a look at how your drop link mounts are oriented now. It'll be obvious when you get in there.

Kind of what I thought. Thanks for the reply.

But, do you know why the mount is adjustable? It seems like it can only be in one place.

It depends on the type of sway bar and drop links you are using. I have RS sways and drop links on my TT. Since the link is now under the sway bar, I set the link mount as low as possible.

With OE sways/links you can move the mount up and down based on how low/high your car is and clearance with the sway bar.

This. Also, many people purchase an additional locking ring to hold the mount in place and keep from twisting.

Thanks guys. I did the left side today. Got everything back together, but not torqued yet.
I almost boogered up the toe link. Someone in the past reversed the concentric bolt so it would be easier to pull out. Because this is my first time, I had no idea what to look for. I only realized after googling how to remove it (because I thought it was so tight). I saw some recommended swapping it & a lightbulb went off!

Hopefully finish the other side tomorrow, replace brake lines, bleed & finally get it off jack stands.
Then it goes in for alignment- hopefully I haven't messed things up too much.

Default Height Adjustment

I know this has been talked about, but I can't seem to find the answer for my situation.

I've got all of my suspension installed, Bilstein B6 & H&R springs. When I got it off of the jack stands, it sits really low. I don't think it would be drivable on regular roads & especially speed bumps.
I've been able to raise the front some, but I've run out of threads. If I'm measuring correctly, the front is at about 140mm */- now.

I only have a couple threads left on the rears & it's at about 110mm */-. So, how do I raise it? Do I have the wrong struts & springs?

You would need to go back to OEM springs to go any higher. Personally, I think your car is high enough. My 993TT was way lower on the same setup and I didn't have too many issues.

Thanks for reply. I think it looks fine, just a little worried about potholes & such.
Talked to my Indie today, I will leave it this way until they can get to it for alignment next week.

I think the ride height is fine. Curious, I thought Bilstein recommends the B6 for use with OEM springs.
