Default Has anyone had this radio issue.

Original OEM Porsche radio - when I try to manually tune or use scan function it just continually scrolls through all stations without stopping.

Old technology - may need to replace with a more modern head unit - any ideas?

Sounds like the antenna isn’t making good contact. It has a 12 volt booster on the antenna wire that may be unplugged.
can you get any stations with manual running?

I will pull the radio and check.

Preset will play for 1 station.

When I try to manually tune it scrolls through stations continually or when I hit to scan it does the same thing.

I noticed a receipt for " radio" from last owner - didn't specify what, but maybe they pulled the radio and didn't reconnect the antenna, who knows?

Hi CRW,
If it turns out to be a problem internal to the radio it can be serviced by Becker:
https://www.beckerautosound.com/porsche
They can also add upgrades to the radio such as Bluetooth.

One of the first changes I made to my car was the stereo. Sony DSX-GS80 (it has a built-in 400W amp), Focal Performance 6.5” 165AC speakers, and a Kicker 11HS8 under seat sub. It elevated the car audio to modern standards, and while I understand people wanting to keep the car original, I don’t view it any differently than adding a set of modern coilovers. It only improves the experience.

Pulled the radio - the keys made it easy.

The antenna slides into a receptacle at the back of the Becker - it had slid out a bit.

Pushed back in, problem solved

Hardest part was getting the radio back in the dash, tight fit and the wires tend to bunch up and interfere with it going in all of the way. Required some fiddling

So satisfying to have an easy fix without cost.

Clearly greater power than the 15~25 watts or so per channel in the original unit and so much cleaner sound.
To be clear that's a built-in MOSFET amplifier (45 watts RMS/100 peak x 4 channels) anything much more say 75 or 150 Watts RMS will need to fit under the seat.

Becker sells a blue tooth unit you can plug into the back of the OEM radio that makes it a blue tooth radio.

You use the AUX socket, so if you have a CD changer in the frunk, you have to disconnect it.

So for $80, you swap your CD for a blue tooth (Pandora) + you can receive phone calls

Easy DIY
