Default Interior upgrade!

Had my new Prototipo steering wheel installed this morning. Such an improvement in the overall look of the interior. For anyone looking to order… the smooth leather option matches the dash and doors perfectly. The size of the wheel and diameter of the grip feel much improved while driving as well.

The leather embossed Porsche crest horn button is on its way.

Nice!
Now one can consider adding some DIY body matching color to the interior:

Looks great and I bet it feels even better. I believe your odometer is broken. It's only showing 21,000 miles. That can't be right!!

Thanks Andy. I would love a pair of body color hard back seats. My seats are in great original shape though. Thought about the shifter but I opted for just replacing the existing cracked one with a new Porsche OEM when they did the golden rod and ssk . Somehow they trimmed the height on the shift lever to get the shifter to look stock. May do the silver gauge trims at your suggestion.

Looks Great!! I’m about to install my Momo Mod 07 with smooth leather next week....question. Did you reuse the stock steering column covers and not the 964 upper and lowers?

So I didn't put the wheel on I had it done. Please someone enlighten me to the steering column covers. Are those the area where the stalks come out of? I was wondering about the way that was left.

Yes.....there’s an Upper and a Lower...part numbers
Upper 964-552-273-01-01C
Lower: 964-552-275-03-01C
Covers the area and makes it look OEM/Factory....

To be honest I wasn't a fan of the bus like air bag wheel.... so the decision to swap it out was all about looks. I am shocked how much nicer it feels driving. The diameter of the wheel itself if just about perfect, as is the thickness of the wheel in my hand. It's awesome.... and it transforms the look of the interior. Looks like I did more than just swap the steering wheel.

The odometer isn't broken. I got it 2 years ago with 17,000. So I have some catching up to do! Not to worry.... I'm driving it!

Column covers will clean it up. Easy to install and you should be able to install them with the steering wheel in place (though it may require a little maneuvering)

Sounds weird, but of all the modifications I've made, changing the steering wheel made one of the most impactful and positive changes in the way the car feels. It's a hugely underrated mod.
