I'm a new 993 C2S owner and I am unable to find information on the type of headlights installed on my Porsche. There is a silver/grey electric diagram on the drivers side headlight, but not on the passenger side one. 1997 993 C2S Headlight
I am not looking to replace the bulbs, but I have not seen another headlight like this on a 993. Or maybe I am looking in the wrong places on the internet. Is it Halogen, HID, auto leveling headlight?
If we are talking about the same thing - the geometric shape on the headlights - that is probably a RFID (Radio Frequency ID) in sticker form attached to your headlights. In many countries, these are affixed to headlights or windshields to trigger toll booths, garage doors, etc.
It's an rfid tag of some sort. Guarantee that it's a sticker. Likely for an entry gate or a toll system. Sorry, didn't notice that before. It'll peel off.
Thanks for everyones replies. It is a sticker and like a few of you called out, it's probably an RFID. I have never seen anything like it before. I thought it might be a heating element or something. It's stuck on so well, It looks OEM quality and like it should be there.
RFID tag, probably meant for automatic opening of a garage door. It activates when interrogated with a radio beam, also providing power to the device.
Cheers,
Tore
