Now that took forever!!!! I am really happy with them, although I lost about a inch off the back rim due to offset. They were supposed to be 2 1/2 inches deep, but due to the offset issue, they only gave one and a half inches. They could have given me what I wanted but I think they were trying to stay with the same inner face (center), so they only had so much geometry to mess with.

Bottom line, I wish they had more lip all the way around, but they sure are pretty.

Side skirts look awesome with the car lowered.

Comments are welcome...

Robert

Robert,
Looks great! You will (if you haven't already figured it out) enjoy those tires. They are the best non-R tire out there.
Let me know if you hear of any events at the Nashville Speedway this year. Looks like the only one I found was this past month.

Thanks guys!!

Greg,
These tires happened by accident. I ordered the Michelin Pilot Sport Rib (since they were designed for a 911) but they were backordered over a month... my wheels were already here. So I said screw it, what can we get in by Friday?? It was either these or S-03's. Since I had already had the Bridgestones and my friend said the g-Force's were the stickiest tire on the market (not counting R-compounds) I said what the hell, throw 'em on. I think I got really, really lucky. I'll report when I get a chance to test them.

Derrick and Miraculix,
Thanks a million. As you can probably tell, she's a garage queen!! If I can convince myself that I won't ruin a rim I probably will take her out for at least one autocross this year, but I need to get comfortable with 18's and these gumball sticky tires first. I was used to riding on smaller tires with bigger sidewalls, and that gives you a little forecast in a turn. Don't have it anymore, so I better break them in slowly.

Thanks again guys.

You must be a veritable storehouse of trivial information!! LOL!! Your contributions should at least warrant some type of guru status for you...

Cheers!

Robert,
What a beauty - you've done well.

One other comment on the tires; I just came back from the 2 day advanced Skippy school. They're now running the KD's and KDW's on the RT/2000. The first car I had for the school had the KD's and I was very impressed. I had to switch cars because the guy who used the car in the other session put the tail end into the wall - the 2nd car had KDW's on it and I thought the dry performance was equal to the KD's but the wet performance was great. I'll probably go to those as soon as my current S03 tires are worn out.

BTW - thanks again for the help with the white Targa; it's happily in my buddies garage and he's a happy owner. Now I just need him to join Rennlist!!!

Cheers,

Rick

Robert,

Your car looks fantastic! Time to update the old avatar.

It looks like it's been warm enough to wear shorts in Tennessee.

Chuck and Mark,
Thanks for the comments. I love the wheels, and I do need to update my avatar to show my new shoes. Also, my former cup wheels are now on my friends 1981 911SC, which used to be mine. Those wheels update that car so much, they look great.

Rick,
So far these tires have been stickier than anything I had in the past, whixh includes P-Zero's, S-02's, S-03's, RE730's and Kumho Ecsta MX's. Come to think of it, I haven't had the same set of tires twice on this car yet. I have not pushed these REALLY REALLY hard yet, so the verdict is still out, but so far.....ME LIKEY!!!!

BTW I did not know your friend bought that targa. That is awesome, glad I could be of help. That's why I love this board. All for one, and one for all!!

Suh---weeeet!

Combined with the drop, the big feet to the ground and those side skirts, that car really looks fantastic! Just out of curiousity, was it relatively reasonable to get the skirts painted?

Hey Robert...Congrats on the new shoes...totally transforms the car doesn't it? Kind of like getting a new car all over again...
What size rims did HRE make up for you? What suspension did you install to lower the car?

Awesome, enjoy~!!!
