JPS and II-nd place bullet: it draws all energy from 996 turbo.

grey market, indeed. Not accepted by Porsche AG and older rennlisters either.

Thanks everyone for your answers and humor. I guess the guy on my BMW board sort of spooked me into thinking I'd have people hauling off my cars now that my license plate is out there.

I guess if they really want them, they can have them. It's kind of fun looking for a new car to buy! Heck, my bimmer's got 111k mi http://members.cardomain.com/stever500 so if someone wants it, go for it! Maybe then I can finally get my 2001 BMW 740i Sport in Imola Red. I promised my wife I'd keep the 7 series till it was dead or stolen .

Steve,

Do what I always do; fill the tank with gas, leave the signed pink slip and a $20 bill on the dash, along with the keys. Presto; it's gone.

Ps: tell me where you're going to park it first.

I spend more time trying to keep my TT plate hidden from law enforcement

To ca993twin

Thanks for the tip on getting your car stolen... I'll have to remember that the next time I run into another gamut of repair issues with my 7 series BMW and I don't feel like fixing it anymore. I'd probably get more from insurance than from a potential buyer .

And yes, DJ had the funniest previous post when he said that the reason he blots out his license plate # in his pics is because his car IS stolen. Great one .

I'm going to Miami Beach for 5 days starting tomorrow night and I'll miss Rennlist! Maybe I'll try to get my fix by stopping in on "The Collection" on Route 1. That's where I saw my first Arctic exterior/Burgundy interior 993 TT sitting on a showroom floor and it blew me away. Something about a car like that parked inside under flourescents that really brings out it's color and surreal appeal. It was 94 large ($$$) at the time, and I guess they are down in the mid $70K's to high $60K's by now. They always have some interesting cars to look at, though the sales staff there blew me out the door with barely a word spoke. Guess I'll have to stop wearing Grateful Dead tie dyes when "shopping" for high end vehicles!

Steve,
I am Pretty sure Miami Beach has internet connections. You can still stop in here, while there!
