Default Prizes from PCNA.....

Well, the prizes from PCNA arrived today - and they are SPECTACULAR!!! Honestly - I thought the prizes would be "copy" of an existing print. No..

Rather...

These are TWO beautifully mounted, signed and ORIGINAL 911 renderings done by the Porsche 911 design engineers in Weissach....
They are stunning - and the following shots hardly do them justice....

I wonder if Jen will notice if I hang them over the bed????!!!

Enjoy!!!!
About 30" x 24"

About 24" x 18"

Thanks guys...

Steve - don't start with me....

Also - there seems to be some confusion - these are NOT Graham's prizes for Best Picture!!! (thanks for the PM folks, but PCNA did NOT send me Graham's gifts ) LOL!!!!

See - it's a long story – which I’ll make “short”…..

Each "Porsche" main country held their own "contest" - and the top 3 "winners" in each category apparently wins for the Porsche 911 40th Anniversary placement...

Anyway - I placed rather well in the US and worldwide for my 911 story as selected by a group of magazine Editors and folks from PCNA and PAG from several hundred entries - so it will be printed, along with my pics of my 911 in Christopherous and elsewhere....

For that - I didn't post when I won 2nd place in that PCNA/Worldwide contest, as I entered just as "me" - that’s just sort’a “me” – as I wrote mine as an enthusiast and Porsche “nut”. But, you can read it on their website and in Christopherous in the coming issues...

With that said – and with my luck - Graham's car will be pictured next to my posting.

So – these prizes are for my winning entry to the Porsche 911 40th Anniversary contest…

This is my "entry" (pre my 993)......

And here is the PCNA Winners page - where you can read Chris' #1 placement and all the PCNA winners....:

Congrats, John! I love the sketch and how it directly reveals unadulterated ideas streaming from mind to hand of the designer. Beautiful!

John,
What a terrific write-up. You certainly deserve the reward and a huge:

AMEN!!!!!!

As I was reading your story, I kept mumbling "uh hu, yep, that's right, and finally, AMEN Brutha". You nailed it.

It is a strange thing, this Porsche desease. Only a few of use have it, but it is very powerful and is permanent. I have had it since I was a child in 1973 and it just seems to get worse for me.

Thank you for articulating this so well and putting it in black and white.

John,

Begrudgingly, I'll confess that your story was beautifully written and well deserving of your prizes. Congratulations. Well done. Don't send those prizes to me.

John: Your essay was very well written. It grasps the "mystique" of the 911 - so much more than a car.

I have recently been through the search, purchase, and delivery of a 993 (over a 6 month period) and just now have licensed it. And I notice that only now, when I can actually get it onto the road, it feels real.

Explanations of why this car invokes the responses it does can never tell the whole story because over 40 years it has become mystical. It is now made up of the cars, the people, and thousands of memories, personal experiences and stories played out around the world.

Congratulations, John, good on ya!
