Post Porshce's new M01V1 option for the Valentine 1 remote display

LOL! Just kidding.... Please don't e-mail me and ask me if this option is real or not....

Just finished installing the V1 remote display into the tachometer of my 993.

It turned out really nice.

Below is a link to the DIY article.

Have you started converting all your instruments to Spanish yet? Hope Miami is treating you well!

Where is the main unit, above the rear view?

Hi Chris,

Sorry I missed all the fun you and Hank had installing the PSS-9 unit.

Miami is awesome compared to Atlanta, but a little hard to save money here.....

Yes, my main unit is still next to the rear view mirror. I was not interested to mount the V1 main unit in a fake 3rd brake light enclosure in the rear shelf because fear of decrease in performance.

Yep, it's real, but not available for the US market. Don't try Gert, he can't get it because the factory is out of stock. It seems that unobtanium is in short supply pending the outcome in Iraq.

Very slick, Robin! You have mroe guts than I do. Now, all you need to do is make the V1 a white-faced display with black lettering.

Nice, professional looking job & a great DIY - just what we have all come to expect

So, now that you've got some extra time, are you going to start doing V1 display conversions in between RSR jobs? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Mick,

Thank you for your kind words, all of the DIY projects seems to turn out well because I never post the ones that turned out to be a disaster.

For example, like the time when I tried to make the emergency brake release button into a dual function button for the V1 mute function.... what a mess it turned out to be!

great job....do you think there potentially could be a problem down the road with tach needle being that close to the bezel?

Robin, you've got to stop doing this to us!
For awhile, I was pretty happy with my velcro operation here... But now, after seeing your DIY post, I want that M01V1 option on mine too. <img border="0" alt="[crying]" title="" src="graemlins/crying.gif" />

Seriously, that's a great install you've got.
Here is to Robin! <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

L.C.

That's why in the beginning of my DIY I recommended that if anyone else wanted to do this DIY they should move the V1 remote display just a tad lower than where I made my cut.

As you can see from the below picture if barely cleared the mute button with the current position, I am sure moving the display unit another 2-3 mm down the gauge will not hurt.

Robin,

Tu eres un bravo! (Spanish/Cuban translation for "You are the best!").

I grew up in Miami, FL and now live near Chicago, IL. I sure miss my old hometown alot (esp. during Winter!). <img border="0" alt="[crying]" title="" src="graemlins/crying.gif" />
