How do you attach the suction cups above the mirror? I can't get mine to stick to the black (paint?) that is there.

RJ - I think only cabs have the "black paint" - at least my '98 cab does. My V1 fits just to the right of the black paint and a little bit under. It clears my rear view mirror by a few mm.

I would imagine your other option would be to use 3M mounting tape or silicon adhesive.

I used Dan's prescribed method...wet/dry sandpaper, superglue and double sided tape. Works like a charm.

Robin,

Good to see you in MIA last week. If all goes well I will be out of the cold and back home this summer (can't let you have all the fun)!

The install looks great. Question I have been trying to figure out is where to put the main unit in a cab where I can leave it. The probable answer is to use the k40, but everybody swears by the V1.

Staplcl this might help you a little...It is from a Boxster but you might be able to come up with a spot for it.... http://www.whiteson.org/boxster/mods/v1.shtml

Thanks Chris.

That's a nice set up, but I won't be able to replicate it with the 993. If I had a 996 with a decklid that covers the top instead of a boot maybe, but the top sits to high when it's down.

Myabe after a rollbar for DE, then I could finagle something....
